Brothers and Sisters,

Today, your Local 2881 Executive Board voted to cancel our 58th Annual Convention. We have canceled the convention, the ceremonies, the speakers, and the special receptions associated with the event. Instead, we are having a limited general membership meeting with the Board and a skeletal representation from the units to meet the timely Union concerns regarding health, safety, and fiscal issues that must be resolved.

We have made it clear that every firefighter, with any possibility of being placed in a position to fight the devastating Southern California fires continuing to threaten our communities, be prepared to respond.

Staying the course,

Tim Edwards
